How do you change windows 7 icons?

I don't want this change desktop items rubbish i've been seeing 24/7 on every possible google and youtube search.



I want to know how to change an icon so it applies to everything!



I want to change a folders icon to whatever and have that apply for every other folder on windows, maybe even set it so that empty folders look like, w/e and full ones look like, w/e

1. Right click on a empty area of the desktop and click on Personalize.

2. Click on the Change desktop icons link at the upper left corner.

3. To Change the Icon for a Desktop Icon -

A) In the middle pane, select (click on) a desktop icon that you want to change the icon for, and click on the Change Icon button.

B) Select a icon that you want to use instead, or click on the Browse button and navigate to the location of the icon you want to use.

NOTE: Any icon of your own you want to use instead needs to be a 256x256 pixel .ico Vista style icon file to properly display at larger view settings.

C) Go to step 5.

4. To Restore the Default Icon for a Desktop Icon -

A) In the middle pane, select (click on) a desktop icon that you want to restore the default icon for, and click on the Restore Default button.

5. Click on OK to apply.

it so simple just right click on the folder which u want to change then go to properties option%26gt; then customize icon%26gt; and then %26gt;change icon tab and select your desirable icon and apply this change.
