I got the orange box and i am trying to run Half Life 2 but it has a memory error. 32 bit software runs fine on Win 7 64bit. 16 bit however is unsupported. Just use the compatibility mode if 32 bit.

if you have 16 bit software you can not use it anymore unless you install 32 bit OS.How do you change windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit to run old games.?
Rightclick Half Life 2.exe(or exe used to start the game) and change the compatibility mode to windows xp
You can set up a dual-boot O.S. one for 32bit and another for 64bit.
Hi K Mart,

To switch from a 64-bit version to a 32-version you will need to do a reinstall of Windows and choose to do a custom installation. This means you will have to back up all your programs and settings because they will not saved in the process.

Right click Half Life 2 in steam, click properties.

Click set launch options and type in -32bit, that should fix it.

Works fine on Vista 64 though.
