It is one of the most common shortcuts available in most programs so I think that is very difficult...
You do have 2 Ctrl keys, one to the left and another to the right. Train yourself to use the best combination. Copy = Ctrl to the right and C with your left hand, and pasting the same Ctrl and V to the left. To print I use the left Ctrl + P with my right hand.
It takes some time to learn, but it is worth it.

How to change Windows XP monitor refresh rate outside of Windows?
My windows XP refresh rate is set high and the new monitor I plugged in doesn't support it, so I can't get into winXP and change it to something lower. It works under safe mode because it chooses the monitor's default refresh rate. How can I change it in normal Windows if I can't even see anything? This seems ridiculous to me...How to change Windows XP monitor refresh rate outside of Windows?
This has happend to me tons of time, what I do is to memorize keybord keys in order to lower resolution because is easier than changing screen refresh rate.
What I usually do is:
1. Restart in safe mode
2. Write down the keyboard keys to lower resolution once there. ie.

You need a Windows Home disk to change it to something else.
You will need to get to the hidden admin account, but I am sure you don't have the password to that either. You should just wipe it clean and start anew.
uh. windows xp pro and windows xp home are virtually the same operating system, but they are two operating systems, you can't just flip a switch between them.
I dont know how you managed to switch the only user account to a limited one, but you might be able to create a new account, or switch to the Administrator account (it might be hidden). if not, you can boot into safe mode and make a new account there.
You'd have to have a set of Windows disks and then you'd have to reformat the hard drive and install a lesser version of xp in order to downgrade. Xp pro is the top of the xp line and it won't let you downgrade using a disk.
There is no significant difference between Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home editions.
You could try to start the computer in safe mode (tap F8 repeatedly as soon as you switch it on - once every second)
You should be able to see an account called administratorand if it has no password set you will be able to get in there and use the user accounts option in control panel to change the password on the other account.
If you have actually have changed the administrator account to a limited account then you will probably have to reinstall windows.

You need a Windows Home disk to change it to something else.
You will need to get to the hidden admin account, but I am sure you don't have the password to that either. You should just wipe it clean and start anew.
uh. windows xp pro and windows xp home are virtually the same operating system, but they are two operating systems, you can't just flip a switch between them.
I dont know how you managed to switch the only user account to a limited one, but you might be able to create a new account, or switch to the Administrator account (it might be hidden). if not, you can boot into safe mode and make a new account there.
You'd have to have a set of Windows disks and then you'd have to reformat the hard drive and install a lesser version of xp in order to downgrade. Xp pro is the top of the xp line and it won't let you downgrade using a disk.
There is no significant difference between Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home editions.
You could try to start the computer in safe mode (tap F8 repeatedly as soon as you switch it on - once every second)
You should be able to see an account called administratorand if it has no password set you will be able to get in there and use the user accounts option in control panel to change the password on the other account.
If you have actually have changed the administrator account to a limited account then you will probably have to reinstall windows.

To get Vista you either need to download it from the official Microsoft website or purchase the installation disc. I had a copy of Win98se on a computer, I installed another version of it in a new directory on the same hard drive for some troubleshooting issues. I would like to switch back to the original directory, but I can't seem to find out how anywhere. can someone tell me how to tell windows to boot from c:\windows rather than c:\newdows?How to change windows boot directory?
IF you did a simple INSTALL when you installed to c:\newdows then you need to do a simple INSTALL again over the original directory. If you installed a dual boot, then you would see the boot menu at startup.

I then, two weeks ago had to replace the office main, wndows 2000 server......to windows xp pro....it is so much happier!
When you installed the second copy, you re-wrote the master boot record of the disk. You can't modify that. You will have to do a new install to C:\windows. Later versions of windows (2000 and XP) simply mark the MBR to point to an initialising file and this allows for modification.

im guessing media player is unable to read that format.. it has nothing to do with the ACTUAL file.. it's unknown because it is unknown to media player, to to play the file... convert it to wmv format from what ever format it's in now.. google ';music format converters'; or something like that..

The only way you might be able to do it is just right-click on an empty space on your desktop and go to properties. Under the themes tab, the options will be there for how you can have it displayed. If XP is available you will see it here. If it is not there you can't do it. Give it a try and see what happens.

They changed it yet again, and it's getting worse. The entire right side of my emails are cut off and there is no way to scroll over. I can't read them! How can I fix this? Do I just have to forward all my emails to an email client like Outlook? Will that work?

Then, if you get someones XP, one or both of your is going to be questioned by Micro$oft about the product key. I'd hate to see your friends computer rejected by M$ because they detect two computers with different setups using the same key.
How come a new computer with Vista won't support its own hardware ? Or are you talking about third party hardware you want to hook up to it ?

Otherwise, you can download a Linux distro, install over Vista, then install XP over the Linux distro.
Another method is to use Killdisk or DBan.

I hope your French isn't too rusty - because mine is. The following will only work if you have Windows Vista Ultimate or an Enterprise version.
If I were to change the language on my PC to French, I would go START - CONTROL PANEL - CLOCK, LANGUAGE, AND REGION (this icon looks like a globe with a clock next to it) - REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS (again, the clock and globe icon) - KEYBOARDS AND LANGUAGES (this is the third tab from the left).
Under DISPLAY LANGUAGE, there's an option to install more languages. On my PC (set up here in the United States) I would have to install additional languages but since yours was set up with French as the default language, you may already have English installed.

If I were to change the language on my PC to French, I would go START - CONTROL PANEL - CLOCK, LANGUAGE, AND REGION (this icon looks like a globe with a clock next to it) - REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS (again, the clock and globe icon) - KEYBOARDS AND LANGUAGES (this is the third tab from the left).
Under DISPLAY LANGUAGE, there's an option to install more languages. On my PC (set up here in the United States) I would have to install additional languages but since yours was set up with French as the default language, you may already have English installed.

2.Decompress the Windows password unlocker and note that there is an .ISO image file. Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Password Unlocker.
3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive.
4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts); select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.

Load your computer, and at the BIOS screen then keep pressing (repeatedly) the F5 button on your keyboard. Now you should come up some options select SAFE MODE WITH COMMAND PROMPT.
Now you're computer will seem a bit different this time but it is nothing to worry about.

2Now you should have you're login screen and you will see you're name and other names of users of the computer also the ADMINASTRATOR.
Now watch carefully. IF YOU HAVE LOST THE ADMIN'S PASS, THEN CLICK ON IT.
If you have lost a limited account such as a user other than the Admin then select that one. If you're name or other name that you are looking for does not appear on the screen then just select Adminastrator.
Now you have logged on you may, or may not have seen this before but you should see a black area with white writing. This is you CMD and this is what you can control your computer with, anyway. (using your keyboard only) type this: NET USER
now type: Net user Adminatsrator(press the Space bar once) and now press number 8 while using the shift so you get an atserisk as this *.
It will now ask you for you're password just simply press Enter Enter if it says access denied or anything else just press enter and enter again and it should be successful. If you want to change anybody esles password then just do the same as above but put in your name insead of the ADMINASTRATOR ABOVE.

3Once you have done all this just press the power switch on your computer and boot it up again and it should have taken effect as soon as you log in.

Vista is not XP guy,you can't hack the password like this
I think there is no other way to do that without knowing the password.
vista is more secure than xp %26gt;you need your password or reinstall vista

How do I change Windows Task Manager back to the default view?
I was having some issues with my laptop freezing up recently (come to find out it was just getting too hot) and I was used the ';Alt+Ctrl+Del'; combo to shut down some unresponsive programs running. Well some how, as brilliant as I am :) I managed to change the view on my task manager. Now when I use the ';Alt+Ctrl+Del'; combo, the task manager opens, but the only thing I can do is Disconnect or Logoff. I am the only user on my laptop, and my name is the only one listed, so it can't be an administrative issue because I am the administrator, right? Please help! I am lost without my task manager, you never realize how much you use it until you can't! How do you change windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit to run old games.?
I got the orange box and i am trying to run Half Life 2 but it has a memory error. So i looked into it and found out that it has to be played with 32bit, and i need to know how to change my bit settings, if anyone could provide any info i would be very greatful.How do you change windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit to run old games.?
32 bit software runs fine on Win 7 64bit. 16 bit however is unsupported. Just use the compatibility mode if 32 bit.
