How do I change Windows Vista to Windows 7 without losing everything?

Vista suxHow do I change Windows Vista to Windows 7 without losing everything?
I know...well. If you can buy Windows 7. Ok, if it has an upgrade, then when you put the CD in click upgrade and you won't lose anything. Or, you could just transfer your files to another hard drive, or USB Sticks. How do I change Windows Vista to Windows 7 without losing everything?
If upgrading, you WILL have to backup your files.

My recommendation, backup files, etc.., and do a full install. The upgrading takes way too long to finish, and installing will make it run much faster!
Choose to ';Upgrade'; vista, rather than a clean install.

An upgrade will retain your documents and the majority of your settings, favorites, etc.

A clean install will completely wipe the hard drive.

You can also use the ';Documents and Settings Transfer Wizard'; to back up everything to a CD/Flash drive/external Hard drive, etc.

Good luck.
you can upgrade but that's like slowly changing every part on a car i suggest backup all file and do fresh install it is more stable and runs better
You'd have to purchase one of the windows 7 cds from Microsoft. If you already have vista and you want to install 7, it won't remove your files or anything. It'll basically just add onto the current operating system. You won't lose anything. However if it's on an xp computer, you would lose everything.
I don't believe that's possible.
when you put in the Windows 7 disk use the ';upgrade'; options.

all of your files, settings and just about everything else, will be in the same.

all of your files and programs will be in the same spot as well.

you're right, Vista is terrible.

Windows 7 is amazing.

enjoy.
