I know how to change this by right click%26gt;open with%26gt; choose default programme. But there is no option for Windows picture and fax viewer. Or the other way, I can view the photos by right click%26gt;Preview. I want ';preview'; as my default photo viewer. I am using Vista Home Premier. How do I change Windows picture and fax viewer as a default application for opening photo file ?
are you choosing ';browse'; and then ';select program'; when you do the ';open with'; thing. you need to do that for programs that are not in the listHow do I change Windows picture and fax viewer as a default application for opening photo file ?
It's all to do with File Extension Association - do a search or Windows Help (that all I can offer as I use OSX)
In Vista, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer has been replaced by Windows Photo Gallery (which should be the default setting; double clicking a thumbnail will launch Photo gallery)
There is no way to get Picture and Fax Viewer on Vista; see here

you could use a free third party viewer as suggested and set that as the default; Faststone Image Viewer allows you to view in Full screen mode and includes a host of neat features. It's free too.
