have an old laptop I want to change to Linux. Can anyone tell me how? I am limited to no Internet on it but using floppy discs to transfer the files to it. I think for your situation, you are better off using a live cd instead of doing an install. I have tried ubuntu in the past and I have found it to be the easiest version of linux to work with.
