How do you change Windows FAT32 and convert your hard drives to NTSF.?

Just upgraded from Millenium to Windows XP but I would like to maximize older computer's speed. I know the Volume Serial # but what is the Label Name? I'm not sure what that meansHow do you change Windows FAT32 and convert your hard drives to NTSF.?
You should have a ';converter'; program in your ';system tools'; folder that can make the conversion.



The label name is ';What YOU Call it'; besides ';C:'; drive. Since my C: drive has only the OS, I labeled it ';Op-sys';, but you can leave it vacant by pressing ';enter';.



Just remember to CLOSE ALL running programs such as ';intellimouse';, etc. before running the converter, AND it is a ONE WAY operation that can NOT be reversed.

ALSO, YOU should make an ';external'; backup BEFORE doing the conversion, ';just in case';.How do you change Windows FAT32 and convert your hard drives to NTSF.?
The Label Name is whatever you choose to call your hard drive. It isn't important.



When you installed XP, you should have been given the option to format the drive to NTFS. If you just used an upgrade it may have skipped that stage all together.

You have a problemXP won't work with Millenium, it is the only software I know of that is not compatable with all other Windows operating system, at least now. When you install Xp it asks you if you want to convert fat 32 files into NTFS and you do it then. Good luck.

In FAT partitions right click on one of them then select Format.. (if menu is not visible the cause is ur page file is on it) so first remove page file creation on it. After that remove the drive.or format with NTFS(this is because NTFS uses different sector formatting algo than FAT32. but first take drive backup after do this..

To remove pagefile%26gt;%26gt;right lick on My Computer icon(no Ur Computer not ';mine';). %26gt;%26gt;Properties%26gt;%26gt;In Advance tab%26gt;%26gt;In Performance %26gt;%26gt;click settings%26gt;%26gt;Go to Advance Tab%26gt;%26gt;click Change%26gt;%26gt;and select the drive u want to format and click on it%26gt;%26gt; after select ';No page file'; check box click Set and ok%26gt;%26gt; OK%26gt;%26gt; Restart ur system. AFter that remove and format option will be available.

Lable is the Name of Drive you want to call it.. for example If ur drive contains music and Video file than u can Lable it to ';Muzic'; or ';Video'; etc anything u want.
